Is it easy to burn a mini dv tape on a DVD ?

i am about to buy a mini dv camcorder but i was wondering how would i be able to burn the contents or the videos on that mini dv onto a dvd from my computer ? i am sure lots of you people have good experiences with camcorders. pls advice..cheers all...
