The latest (4 XP) version of PowerDVD seems unable to play 44.1 KHz files (and hence CD audio) in 4 or 5.1 speaker modes. I have tried to contact their tech support but they seem completely useless and uninformative about the matter and it is beginning to annoy me.
The program states that users can enjoy CD audio and MP3s in 5.1 sound with the use of (an admittedly very high quality) pro-logic II decoder. This sounds very nice indeed and can make DivX movies properly rock the place. But only if they happen to be at 48KHz. How anyone uses this for CDs is anyone's guess. A CD at 48KHz?? Pretty unlikely to say the least.
Does *anyone* know of a fix for this?
thanks
Belrik
