About two years ago my Pioneer dvd-114 stopped playing dvd movies. When I
would put a dvd in it wouldn't even recognize there was a disk in there.
Since then I went out and got a new dvd player a Samsung which plays all my
dvd's. Last night I decided to try a dvd movie in the 114 which is in
another computer and it played (Midnight Run) tried another (Predator) and
it played. I then tried to play the Matrix and it wouldn't even recognize
it. I tried 5 newer dvd's I have and same thing doesn't even recognize there
is a disc in there. I have no problems with data cd's in this drive. I have
updated to the latest firmware 2.06 but still no go. And why do they say for
this drive you can't go back to an earlier firmware when for all there other
drives there is no mention of this restriction.
