jerky dvd playback geforce2 PIII-600

My pentium III 600 (256MB RAM) has a geforce2 MX400 card. I tried different software for DVD playback but I still have jerky playback. My HD DMA is enabled. I tried lowering the resolution to 800x600 16bit. Forced weave... nothing helps.

Has anyone had the same problem. My system meets the minimum for smooth DVD playback.
