I'm recording some games and practice sessions to help players improve their skills, and I'd like to edit out downtime and add chapter marks, preferably without re-encoding. Generally the chapter marks would coincide with the start of a video segment I'm keeping.
My device captures to MPEG4 MOV format. I can convert to AVI using MP4Cam2AVI, which is the only program I've found that actually works. With this I can load the video into VDub or most any other editing software (many of which don't support .MOV).
What software can I use to cut dead segments and add chapter marks without re-encoding the video? Re-encoding is acceptable if it saves me effort and time.
Thanks!
