Which DVD Burner?

Hi,

I have been ripping movies to divx and vcds etc and thought now that the price has dropped I would invest in a dvd burner. I was looking at the following:

Pioneer DVD-R/RW 104 Bare Drive
Bare Drive Kit only

Write Support

DVD-R (4.7 GB for General disc only) DVD-RW
CD-R & CD-RW

Read Support

DVD-ROM (Single layer & dual layers)
DVD-R (all types)
DVD-RW

Does anyone know if this will be ok to write dvd movies for standalone players using the dvd-r for general disk use disks??

I was planning on using smartripper, ifoedit and nero to rip, splice and burn the disks?
