If you downloaded and installed Windows Media Player 11, then you have WMPNSCFG loaded into MSCONFIG in STARTUP tab.
This means Windows Media Player 11 automatically uses resources even when you are not using Media Player 11.
I removed WMPNSCFG from MSCONFIG and the registry six sub-keys, but after a re-boot WMPNSCFG is right back in MSCONFIG STARTUPS.
You can remove the two Windows Media Player 11 entries ( windows media format 11 runtime and windows media player 11)from the ADD/REMOVE program and the system will roll-back to the previous Windows Media Player you had installed (in my case Windows Media Player 10) and you will NOT have any additional start-up entries.
I am staying with MusicMatch Plus and Media Player Classic as my audio and video library and player.
