I have a 42 inch Panasonic plasma with built in hd tuner. I have foxtel connected to it and also connected to a normal pioneer dvd rec ( no hdmi) connection with the Recorder. I do not have an outside aerial running to my plasma.It's all run through foxtel cable only.
I wanted to get another HDD Recorder with a hdmi connection to connect to the tv but will it make any difference. I'm guessing that it will only make a slight diff to dvd's i watch but nil if i am recording a programme off foxtel.
I am assuming that at the present moment as i am running only foxtel and no outside aerial that the internal hd tuner on the tv is a waste.
So what recorder if any should i be looking for and am i better getting a foxtel hd box. I'm new to all this. The blu ray recorder (panasonic) has just hit the shelves her at 1200.00. Is that something i should be looking at. I can get the pioneer 160 hd with hdmi input at the moment for 480.00 but held off for some advice.
Any help would be appreciated.
