OPPO DV-980HD - not sorting movies correctly

Anyone have this? When I insert a FAT32-formatted laptop drive connected via USB2.0 it displays the movies and plays em all fine but in the menu its all sorted based on date modified. Whats the deal here? I want to just sort it based on filename. I have to update the player's firmware to the July 25, 2008 (DV980H-19-0722) one so unsure thats the issue. Can't find any info anywhere on this.
