What is best user friendly video movie maker?

I'm trying to clip out plays from my son's various football game videos and put them together in one highlight DVD WITH MUSIC TO THE VIDEO. I have Cyberlink PowerProducer version 3, and it seems not so user friendly, and I can only put songs on the menu part, not while the highlight video is playing. I don't mind paying for good software, but want one that is easy to import videos, snip parts of them and combine together with music that plays during the highlight video and not just on the menu screen.
