movie plays too fast

I'm having severe problems when playing divx or vcd files using microdvd, the playa, powerdvd or windows media player6.4. The playback speed is way to fast (about twice the normal speed). I've tried different divx codecs (3.11 alpha, 4.11, 4.12 and 5.02), so far, only powerdivx was able to correctly play a divx file, but no vcdfiles. Even Roxio Videopack5 is affected by this. They all seem to be using a fastplaybackmode. I can't find a way to change it back to normal to watch movies. Thanks for help
