    AVI2DVD Problem

    Hi folks,

I am having problem with AVI2DVD. I ran a small AVI clip test and again it failed ... it only decodes the Audio and chokes on video part and it gives me the following error message ... "access violation at address 77FCD989 in module 'ntdll.dll'. Write of address 549CEBAC."

I unistalled my AVI2DVD and restarted my laptop and reinstalled the AVI2DVD 0.4.4 Beta from scratch and ran the AVI clip test same probelm again ... no matter which Encoder I use.

By the way, I am running Windows 2000 on my laptop.

What does the above ERROR message mean and how can I fix it?

    Thanks,
    G!

What other encoders have your tried? DVD Flick...have you ran the file through G-Spot to see if it is compliant or corrupt?

      Hi Locoeng,

      OK ...

      1) I used to be able to use AVI2DVD 0.4.4Beta on my Desktop XP just fine. But I am trying to use my laptop ... but it has Win 2000.

      2) I opened my Test Clip with GSpot 2.77a and it shows everything to be "Normal" ... to me anyway.
Q: How would you know if the Clip is "Compliant" or "Corrupt"?

      3) BTW, I have DVDFlick 1.2.13 build 348 on my laptop and ran the same clip thru that ... and Viola ... no sweat ... worked just fine.

BUT I am just curious why the darn AVI2DVD is not working!?!?!?

Plus, I think DVDFlick does not give you the Option for "Subtitles" inclusion!?!?

      Thanks,
      G!

DVD Flick does give the subtitle options...double click on the actual imported clip and some options are made available to you, one of which being subtitles. I don't know why DVD Flick would work where another program wouldn't, but it has worked for me when Nero and ConvertX has spat files back at me...that is why I suggested it. Seems to be more tolerant if there is such a thang.

            Hi Locoeng & Chewy,

Locoeng: Thanks for the tip on double clicking ... I'll try it with one of my test clips ... chinese w/ sub.

BTW, I think Chewy really likes "ConvertX" ... ... but is it "free" ... I think I have a copy of their 0.5.2b freeware somewhere in my pile ...
Q: Chewy ... what Version are you using anyway!?!?

            Thanks guys,
            G!

I tested a few versions, latest seems the best

the old free version was too buggy for me

dvd flick is my favorite tho, only tried subs a couple of times in tests

I can't complain about flick...the only thing is it seems maybe slightly slower than ConverxX.
