upside down avi

Can anyone help me? I have an avi file that plays fine through mediaplayer on my desktop, but when I try putting it in TMPGEnc to edit out ads and burn to DVD the whole thing appears upside down. It is in fact mirrored upside down, if you know what I mean, not turned 180 - if you turned the screen upside down to view it, the writing would be backwards.

I even burned it to disk to see if it was just a hiccup with viewing the file on TPMGEnc, but no, it turned out upside down as viewed.

Any ideas on a fix?

Can you post screenshots of the file opened in both TMPGEnc and Media Player ?
