hello, i made these years ago and uploaded them in the xvid.com forum, and settings have just been hanging around, so i attach them to the post and use if you wish...
settings are alot faster to encode then divx, with instant seek, and roughly the same file size if not smaller then divx
Reason : they are better

Settings to write over [merge into the registry] the defaults for xvid which better divx compression. ;(
xvid registry settings are : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GNU\XviD
-made using koepi`s june 19 build - for registry string sake.
Instructions :
1>Double click on the registry file standard of compression you need.
2>Open the video editor program and the movie file to compress
3>Choose xvid codec, and compress
new settings will be active in the xvid config
