the best avi encoder???

I have been using dvdx for several years now, but am feeling like I want to strech a little. Would anyone suggest other easy to use programs?

What do people think of Gordian Knot as an encoder?

GK is very good frontend (but not an encoder)

i liked DVX better than GK and later on i used StaxRip, the successor to DVX

use any of these guis and you should see fine results

may not be the easiest to use, but your question is asking for the "best", which imho is MeGUI

staxrip and AGK are easier to use though
