help needed: How to port JM code onto an FPGA

I am currently working on MPEG4 and I have started with the JM code. I would like to measure the real time power of the application:
1) I would like to know how to port that onto a FPGA or any other platform like the OMAP platform.
2) I want to know whether theres any possibility of knowing the real time power of the computations involved.
It would be really grateful if some one could throw light upon this. Thanks in advance
