Hello everyone! I bought this burner about a year ago and haven't used it in many months. worked like a charm the last time I used it and as far as I remember it required firmware update to work. I am unable to find any trace of a firmware update ever existing other than a reply to a microsoft forum post (to a link that is dead) But I everything I try to burn returns the same error (Write Protected) I tried 2 different (probably low quality) brands that worked like a charm in the past
I tried burning with ImgBurn, nero and windows default. which all failed.

Any suggestion? I can't accept that the drive simply died after working perfectly fine
