Here is the link There are 3 different reasons it uses so much resources so your better off reading all 6 links.
These are 3 up from the bottom
    1.Version 2.4 - cpf.exe and High CPU
    2.Version 2.4 - cmdagent.exe and High CPU
Seems like some of those issues could easily be resolved next release. But, from the comments on the Comodo forum, it doesn't effect everybody.

Have you tried Comodo Antivirus BR or have any idea how well it performs? Is it up there with AVG and Avast?

          Hi folks,

@ BR7, how are you able to do all these surfing and other stuff with "Dial-Up" ... isn't almost like impossible ... slow!?!? I ask because I was using dial up and then I got free trial for 6 months on Cable ...

          Thanks,
          G!

Yes it's slow but I have patients to do some research. I am not going to let something like a slow connection keep me from learning, like the saying goes where there's a will theres a way. I get my high speed here in a month or two and this will be less learning and more playing because of what I did before

well avast does a first rate job of scanning and detection but getting it to shut off and not load services is as bad as stopping some viruses

                free unobtrusive scanners?

I prefer manual scan type of adware and anti-virus freeware. I have
been relying on AVG Free and asquared free as well as AdAware for
doing scans. Lately the update process has hosed AVG Free and also
asquared free to the point they are more hassle than benefit. Anyone
recommend similare anti-virus and adware scanners good hopefully
                both on XP and Vista?

I don't like to use any program that hooks the OS to screen program loads
and download as that's a virus in itself AFAIC.

                  Hi MilesAhead,

I am not sure how unobtrusive this is but I use it and according to others is pretyy decent program ... "Spybot Search & Destroy" ... BTW, they also have updates ... os they keep up with new Malware.

Also, I happen to come across a "Freebie" program from McAfee called "Stinger" ... I am not sure if they update that ... but when I ran it it seems is catching stuff.

I use Ad Aware as a once a week scanner. It is very efficient. I hope they keep up the good work!

Thanks for the link. For anti-virus I'm trying AntiVir again.
http://www.free-av.com/ I didn't like it when I tried it before because
it wanted to scan the whole drive but now it has a context menu extension
so I can just select folder(s) to recursively scan.

Somebody in development should wise up and have settings so you can
opt out of upgrading the scan engine on these things. It seems like in
most cases if you update the data you're ok. Then they decide to
upgrade the scanning engine, and you're hosed!!! I guess we get picky
even when the software is free but still, seems like poor design to break
                            an application unnecessarily.

Anybody else having problems getting the Ad-Aware 2007 to get updates??
I got an Exception error when installing the software and I also keep getting a server too busy warning when trying to do an update of the database??
                              Any ideas??

I reloaded Se version for now and deleted the 2007, but was curious if any others having the same issues??
