DVD Shrink won't "open disc" - message is "no disc"

I have been using dvd shrink successfully for quite some time. All of a sudden, when I open the program and press "open disc" to read the dvd drive with the dvd to be burned, the message is D: no disc.
I tried several discs, new and burned ones and the same message keeps coming up. I tried to decrypt the disc first and the message was "medium not found."
I tried uninstalling and re-installing the dvdshrink program, virus check, etc.
I have not familiar with alot of the 'techy program stuff'.

Help!! Thanks! I am using Windows XP and Nero software.

      Thanks!

Yes, I am able to read "game cd's" in the drive. Also, when I look from "My Computer", it shows all the files from the cd. But, when I put the movie dvd in, and try to view files from "my computer", there is nothing!

Does the nero info tool see it and all it's properties?

This may sound silly but, make sure you are putting the DVD in the correct drive.

It does sound so silly. I almost sent back a brand new GSA4167 because I was putting the discs into my Samsung CDROM

              Its such a simple mistake.
