Error: "No Disc is in drive" "The Device is not ready"??

So I go to open up my blank disc in my second dvd burning drive and i get this error claiming that there is no dvd in the drive. When I put a movie in, DvD shrink will read that and acknowledge that something is in there. But when I put this blank DVD in there it does not show up.

Why wont it show up? I know other programs can read that the cd is in there. I have burned my first movie with these type of blank DVD's. Why all of a sudden can it not read them?

I tried to update my drivers said I had the most upto date driver.

I just bought my computer in june btw. I dont know wtf is up with it.

yeah sorry i thought i had the most upto date driver. Didnt mean to waste your time.

But anyway I updated it to the newest version restarted and still it wont find the disc?

Maybe its just a bad batch of cd's? I dont know they are sony's though i would think they are decent quality. And I dont think many people experience this problem so if you dont really know i mean you dont really need to spend time on it. Was just curious if this wea common problem.

Sorry, I'd like to ask you a little clarification.

You said in your first post that you tried to open a "blank disc", right?

A blank disc cannot be opened because there is nothing on it. Can you explain better what do you want to do?
