just hit 4:30 here, and yes, it is DAMN hot. got the aircon on right now, but i'd probably feel very very sick if i were to walk outside.

muzzbait, currently not good PC conditions

you must be in south australia or the nt, right???

so, the overheating is due to the weather??? i have never had probs like this in WAAAY hotter conditions.

i think i need to take the computer back to the workshop. problem is, they're closed till this time next week...

its unlikely due only to the weather (though i can guarantee you the scorching room temp doesn't help), rather any one of the things that can affect the CPU temp. eg dust/fans/heatsink/thermal compound/low ventilation, or the cpu is just dying

muzz fans get old, dirt accumulates and cpu's can progessively fry,
I have one that ran at 75-85C for 2 weeks while AC was off, I told the guy to quit using, he had work to do, he's using a new computer now.
I am using the 2 raptors and the mobo. It was one of the first

only if its the CPU that is malfunctioning. even if it is, take it as an excuse to upgrade

heh, with the precious little left over from christmas spending, it's gonna be a while till i save something. plus, added to the fact that i jut came outta hospital, and i am not supposed to work for another 10 days, it may be a while before i can realistically afford an upgrade...

is it possible to just buy a pos fan/cooler just for a stopgap solution? i mean, is it cheap enough to do this? how much would it cost here in australia???
