    Help with IE

    I am having trouble removing IE7 I cant find it. I went to add remove and ticked show updates and it's not on there .I want to remove it so I can reinstall it cause I keep getting an error saying The procedure entry point InternetGetSecurityURLW could not be located in the dynamic library WININET.dll I tried reinstalling the dll but it wouldn't let me it said it was being used

      Thanks I have IE7 but it wont let me reinstall until I uninstall it and I can't find IE7 in the add remove and like a dummy I wrote over IE6 so since this is not working it I cant get firefox or opera to work either

        2 options come to mind
        1. run windows as a repair disk booting from cd
        2. run the bat file to repair(clean install IE 6)

        system restore?

          as for replacing the dll, have you tried replacing in safe mode?

          but, to uninstall it, try ticking the 'show updates' box in add/remove programs. it will appear in the list. once uninstalled, it should be reverted back to IE6
