    64 Bit Vs Dual Core

I wonder how Windows XP 64 Bit edition with a single 64 bit processor perform as compared to a Windows XP standard, 32 bit processor x 2.

This is only interms of Video processing and encoding...........

Who will WIN, since most applications we use are still 32 bit ???.

Will the XP 64 bit outperform the dual core even with 32 bit applications ???

    I really wonder

the X2 (dual core) will win. dual-core CPU's are 64-bit

64bit is most definitely NOT twice as fast as 32-bit, there is usually only a small (i've seen up to 30%) increase in speed, depending on how optimized the code is. keep in mind the OS & app has to be 64-bit to get any benefit.

dual-core has the potential to be almost twice as fast, depending on whether the app is multithreaded

I don't have a dual core but from the few ppl I know that have one IMO the dual core is faster.
