I now remember reading that exact page, but forgot about reading the no firewire support, that would have saved me some grief. But as suggested in the article, I do have Cyberlinks software installed. Oddly I was able to get the video off the camera once before. It has to be a stupid setting somewhere.

Maybe you can answer this question, can you recored the video to a SD card, or is that strictly for taking "pictures" with the camcorder? I have a Nikon D70 for digital pictures, an SD card in the camcorder is almost a waste if that's the case.

    Thanks again,
    Al

you can use the bundled video-editing applications to move files to your Windows or Macintosh computer
means there's something you either haven't installed, or something you're not using. don't think cyberlink powerproducer is the program you're looking for.

regarding SD cards, i'm not sure whether video can be recorded on them (by the camera), but my guess is no.

I just spoke with JVC (what a joke) they told me I seem to be doing everything right. It might be a program conflict, (try another PC), or there is a problem with the camera, and I'll have to send it in. This just sucks big time. The customer service agent was less than helpful. I'm going to see if JVC will swap the camera for a different model, maybe a tape or dvd based camera. I'm on hold now, and I'm going to speak with a supervisor. This again I'm sure will be a joke.

First of all I'd like to thank Chewy (Wally's friend ), and anonymez for all of their suggestions and ideas. I have resolved the issue. It seems I wasn't seeing that the camcorder was adding 2 temp drives, I was only seeing 1, and all of the files were in the other one. So that has been resolved to my satisfaction. Again thanks guys for your assistance. Happy New Year to all.

lol call it whatever you wish, but a camera like that is not a toy

as for me, i'd probably call it "My Preciouuus", if it wasn't already a secret name for my PC

no, giving my lack of experience with digital video recording a hard time,
he who laughs at himself, laughs best.

edit: guess how many camcorders chewy has even used?
