I have a LITE-ON DVD+RW SOHW-802S drive and while I was backing up my copy of "Eyes of Laura Mars" DVDShrink didn't get past 4% of the encoding process and I got an error about the disc being copyrighted. I tried again and got the same message. I decided to do another disc and when I put the disc in, nothing happened. I looked at MY COMPUTER and only the cd-rom was listed, not my dvd-recorder drive. So I restarted and it reappeared. I downloaded the Nero InfoTool while I had JAWS in the drive. It recgonized the drive but it said there was no disc in it. I am at a loss here and I could really use some help because it will not recgonize and dvd put in the drive. So...is my drive dying/dead? If so, how do I fix this? EDIT: Also, the little green light only flashes once. Normally, it does it multiple times if there is a disc in there.

There's a reason you deleted your last thread in the DVD Shrink forum, after bumping it and being warned and then started a new one here? What is going on crabs? People will get around to you. Be patient!

there are several thing you can try crab, if the drive is dying, none of them will work.
1. check the power cables, put the burner on the closest connection to
the power supply
2. go into device manager and uninstall it and let windows redetect at boot up.
3. might try reflashing it, sometimes firmwares get corrupt
chances are all this will be a waste of time, but worth the gambleComment
