Open your windows Explorer, go to Tools -> Fold Options -> File Types. Choose the file extension you look for and click Advanced and click Edit to change

Pick AVI, for example, you click Advanced, click Open in the Actions and click Edit. In the Application used to perform action, browse to the Windows Media Player root directory and select Windows Media Player.exe and click OK. Do the Play action if it is included in the Actions section. Do the same procedure with all the file type you want to change

            Regards

Just patiently do one at the time. Just take care of all the video audio file extensions first. When you installed Nero 7, the Nero ShowTime liked to take over the default player. That why you have to select manually your selected default player and opener for each file type. Just remember that in the future if you want to install Nero 7 again, choose Custom Installation so that you can install what you like only

                Regards

In Media Player Tools -> Options -> File types see that file types
                  needed are checked. (select all).
