My computer is shutting down when I put in a DVD

I installed a Mad Dog MD-16X3DVD9-8XE Triple format DVD burner a few weeks ago, and now when I put in a DVD my computer shuts down and reboots. It works fine after it reboots. I thought the problem was the DVD-RAM disc I was using from my camcorder, but it seems to be doing this even when I'm making a backup of one of my movie DVD's. I haven't talked to Mad Dog about this yet, I thought I'd ask here first. Anybody else having any problems like this?
