    What Does This Warning Mean?

I was checking out anti-spyware / advanced tools / browser restore when I caught this message as I highlighted post not cached.

Warning page has expired - this is the warning page when internet explorer cannot read the content from it's cache.

    Current setting - res://mshtml.dll/repost.htm
    Restore setting to - res://mshtml.dll/repost.htm
    IE default setting - res://mshtml.dll/repost.htm

I have no idea what to do with this.

        dump IE and use firefox

if it can't read from its cache, try clearing it via tools-->internet options-->delete files-->delete offline content

I have to take baby steps here anonymez.I was looking over UncasMS's post about replacing outlook express & now firefox.I am really getting into uncharted territory as far as my knowledge goes. You know me I like to have a little understanding before I make a move.

@nwg Now the reason why I am asking before doing is security.Would it help if I took a shot of the browser restore list & posted?

IE sets a ridiculous amount of space for temp internet files. if you are on broadband, lower it to 40Megs, clean it out every week, delete cookies
less often but do delete them.

@chewy since I cleaned up the PC quite a bit & got rid if some things that came in on the tail of other stuff.Everytime I come off the internet it is control panel / internet options / delete cookies / delete files / clear history.

I am going to do both yours and anonymez's suggestions thank you.

Soup, that error basically boils down to something trying to redo your toolbars or other IE settings, more than likely from a spyware or IE hijacker.

You may need to reinstall IE and/or Outlook Express.

But I would ask why, since Firefox and Thunderbird are better solutions for yourself anyways.

Most peeps are a little concerned when switching since they feel a little intimidated from dropping the comfort with using those products.

Most peeps get over this in about 15-30 mins

Plus Firefox and Thunderbird can transfer your settings and are really easy to use with much better stability and ease of use features like "Tabbed Browsing"

y aknow this will be funny to look back on in a month.

Soup will be laughin at himself (or herself, i dont know) on why he waited so long to install Firefox.

You'll never ever use IE again
