i can download shockwave on my account but it wont go on the others. I think i might need a sledgehammer to fix this computer.

      I'm sorry, I don't have other ideas

Maybe you can try to delete all accounts leaving only your as administrator, update flash player, and then create two brand new accounts. But I don't know if this can help; maybe will be only lost time.

      Sorry

I tried the delete accounts thing already. I'll figure something out i'm sure, although the sledgehammer is very appealing. Thanks so much for your help and time Geno. If anyone else has any suggestions please let me know.

Firefox is my choice browser as well. A lot of nifty extensions to customize browsing needs.

You used to need IE to get onto any MS sites but now i find its just limited to the Windows update site.

If you want you can uninstall IE and reinstall it or DL the IE7 beta 2 see here: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=61446

if you don't want to use IE when necessary, might as well throw in the towel and go to linux
and the link i posted is the only sure way to reinstall IE in windows XP, cd required!

of course nothing beats a clean install of the whole ball of wax!
