    actually you can get around the CD by disabling IE in the Windows Components (Add / Remove Programs [Brings up the old question of why its called ADD? / Remove Programs]) and rebooting and reinstall from a fresh download, but this may have changed as I havent done it in a long time. Just install FireFox now on customer's comps.

        Do you just repair IE or are you talking about everything in that link.Will it mess anything up with Firefox installed?Or are you just talking about this paricular problem?

            the link(script file from msmvp's) writes a new IE from your install cd!
            then you have to go to windows updates to upgrade the patches
