    Problem with Printer

Hey since you computer people seem to know everything maybe you can help us with a bit of a problem we are having with our printer. The Mrs was printing off a resume and it had a border around it...for some reason the border did not print on the bottom of the page..we checked the margins and the paper settings and from what I could see eveything was as it should be..but still no bottom border.. We have a Lexmark X6170..any ideas?

The only problem could be if the printer cannot print(due to its constraint) to that margin of the paper on which the border is supposed to print.

thank you for the response Tech but the margin is good... we have it set for regular letter size paper 8 1/2X11 and when we set the margin that is what we are using as a guide..The Mrs was told at her school that it could be a problem with the information being sent from the computer to the printer since when we look at a print preview it looks like it should..just doesnt print that way

Try to print a normal line to that area instead of the Border, if it prints, no problem with the printer or the doc and probably the border is a very heavy graphic file and the printer cannot buffer it in its memory.

            Hi Derree,

For the resume, didn't you prepare it on MS Word and print or print it from internet. If printing from internet, go to File -> Page Setup, set the margin at 0.25 for all. Try to print again and let us know please

            Regards

Yes, cos sometimes I have experienced that printers will print most of the graphics in a page but in certain types they will just print a blank page and then move on with the next pages or give a buffer overrun error.

Hmmm well it is just a regular word document, doesnt have to be resume... anything with a border the bottom won't print..when I get home form work tonight I will try printing with just a line on the bottom to see what happens
