    Updating Firmware


    Is that part circled 1dvd DD the part you look up to update your firmware on an Io Magic. I can't do it auto since the computer isn't connected to the internet.

      As it's not connected to the net you won't be able to use the LiveUpdate program from www.drvupdate.com

      Download the firmware from BTC: http://www.btc.com.tw/english/3-1-2driver_download.htm, it's really small and will quite easily fit on a floppy (remember those!?) or stick it on a USB stick.


      Edit - That's what I get for going to make myself a cup of tea mid-post... jmet beat me to it..

      Edit 2 - I'm not as quick as I used to be. I'm loosing my speed in my old age. Just look at my avatar, I look like a Chinese Santa Claus with a goatee.

        lol thanks you guys are faster then the live chat tech I am talking too right now who doesnt understand that it isnt conneted to the internetc

        Edit - apparently I still have the latest firmware of a187 thought it wouldnt be the new one the way my drive half the time doesnt recognize regular cds in itii

                      Is it CD's you've previously burned or originals. Could you be using inferior media?
