Hmmm... did you go to the Device Manager and make sure it's not disabled? When I added my second HD, I reformatted the first one at the same time, since I was adding Windows to the other one. What really helped was Western Digital's Data LifeGuard prog... that made the drive show in My Computer, where as it did not before. Want me to put the CD contents in a ZIP file and upload it somewhere?

make sure you correctly set the jumpers...verify all cabling is nice and tight..check your bios and make sure it's not disabled and set to auto...also how old is your mobo and how large is your HDD? -also when computer boots does it show the HDD in the POST? -all the white text shows up at first? I think it's just a jumoper setting...

device manager is working properly. as for bios yes everything's on auto. it likes the drive too.

if you could post the file drfsupercentre, that would be great

i bought this pc from a computer store as seperate parts. they assembled it sep 05. im assuming HDD is hard drive disc. the new one is 251 gb(says in BIOS) the oldie is 80gb, 74 after windows.

                  There you go!

Just open WDC.EXE and click "Install Data Lifeguard Tool". The tool should show you your drives and lets you format the new one and give it a letter, it also lets you pick the type, like "file storage", "master drive", etc. Default settings should do.

NOTE: You must UNZIP it first.

Tell me if that works for you!
Oh yeah, on RapidShare, just click "free download" then wait the 45 seconds it makes you wait. It will then give you a box and tells you to enter some numbers/letters. Enter them. Then click Download and it should start. Sorry it's a nusciance but that's the way it goes!
