I need some computer help from the Wookie

Hey choowie....or anyone else that could help me..had a bit of a problem on the computer today. When I got home from work the Mrs said there was something wrong with the computer it wouldnt turn on. When I turned it on it started to load...brought up the info etc then went to a black screen with the cursor blinking in top left. couldn't do anything about anything..I used ctrl alt del and then went into set up, didn't see anything wrong at first then went into the boot menu. When I seleceted the HDD which said 1st Master (WDC WDI600BB-225UAO) I was able to load windows and all was fine. When pc was restarted same thing happened. When I went into set up again I looked under the boot menu and saw that in the boot priority for some reason USB HDDo:Generic USB SD Reader was 1st and HDD 1st Master (WDC WDI600BB-225UAO) was second, was able to switch that so that the wdc was first and pc loaded. PC is working now..slowly..I brought up defrag and now for some reason I have my HP Recovery fat32 at 6.07 gig, my hp paviilion ntfs at 143 gig and now for some reason a drive listed as G , fat at 246 mb. I am lost as to how any of this happend and how to make it all better....

have you left a usb drive connected at boot up?
camera, anything?

Or leaved a disc with autorun inserted on a drive when you last time shut down computer?

oh for the love of....you know what they say about the simplest answer....damn it I left the damn memory card from our camara in there...sigh....now I feel really dumb Thanks Wookie and thanks to you as well Geno!

you got off lucky, a friend had me load a state of the art computer last year,
it took several tries to get the bios right and every time he left the damn usb external drive running and another college(bozo) came in and booted it up,
it would ask to run setup defaults(F1) or continue. setup default was not raid stripe! I reloaded it once or twice then figured out what was going on, once I explained it to my friend, Bozo was told don't touch! Bozo is in his 5th year of technical college/computer science!

and the touchy computer is in a locked office doing heavy duty graphic design

That is funny wookie...now I don't feel so bad...altho the Mrs is laughing at me right now phoning her friend and blaming it on my old age..sigh....I won't live this down for awhile...
