Retrieving of deleted video file

Hi,
I've recently deleted some video file(*.VOB) from my HDD camcorder. Tried using a recovery software to try retrieving the deleted files and in the end, manage to get back some files in mpeg format. But however I'm unable to play them regardless of all the means I've tried, it keep show invalid codec and even try fix the files using VideoFixer.

Any advice on how to properly retrieve my delete files in (*.VOB) format or how to reconise those file that I've retrieve and play it.

open in 'virtualdubmod' to see if the data exists. if it does, i'd run it through videoredo, or projectX for a free solution
