burning problems caused by virus?

i recently had a virus which i managed to remove, but now i'm unable to burn dvd's and i suspect the virus may have altered/removed registry keys which is causing the problems. i'm pretty new to pc's - can anyone advise me what to look for or a possible solution? much appreciated!

First off, what is the process you are using? What all programs are you using? What program are you using to burn?

after using shrink to compress the dvd files, play from the hard drive and make sure it works then use nero burning rom, not recode to burn
