Removing name

I have noticed that when I upload files from my computer that my first and last name is displayed. If anyone can help me, I would like to know how to remove them from my computer.

Right click on My Computer, go to properties, Computer Name tab...type in what you want, see if that takes care of your problem.

Do you mean like when you place the mouse cursor over the MS Word document, it shows the name of the author. If it is what you ask for, remove the name of the author is easy: Just right-click the file and choose Properties, click Summary tab, just delete the name in the author space, and the click OK complete

@ anonymez if I need to upload a file from my hrad drive it shows the full path of where the file came from (ex C:\Documents and Settings\my name\My Documents\photoprank.wmv)

I want make it so the computer does not show my name.

@ loco Thanks, I already checked that out though, I never named my computer so I know it is not there. I even went to control panel and folder options and de-selected to display full full path. Nothing is working

@ ben no it is not it( don't mean to sound rude). I am talking about attaching files from my computer and sending it over the net, or to other people

that's just so the app/site knows where the file is. nobody else will see that info

because I have seen after the file has been uploaded and before I send it, my name is still there

I believe blutach had to edit a post today where the persons full name appeared in the file path for a movie on a log. But maybe he can confirm that.

That was ture - The person's full name was in her DVD Decrypter log and I removed her surname. Depends on how you set up XP accounts.
