In microsoft word, when i add a page border and print it, the border is not accurate

Hey

In microsoft word, when i add a page border and print it, the border is not accurate.

I have tryed messing with the settings and printing and setting up the page to a different scale e.g. letter.

Basically the border is not accurate, it comes to far up the page and the right side comes to far in... i have checked the messurements but everything is fine.

The gutter is set to 0 and the position is top.

The margins are the following:

top: 1"
bottom: 1"
left: 1.25
right: 1.25

The page border is:

top:24pt
bottom:24pt
left:24pt
right:24pt

messurment:from edge of paper

always display in front is checked.

I have tryed rescaling but still nothing accomplished.

I am running windows xp professional and microsoft word 2003.

Hope someone can help

Have you opened the Help menu in Word? Click on Microsoft Word Help. Type in "page borders" in the search window. You will find related items listed.
It's hard to tell what the problem is without seeing the document. It would help to send the document as an attachment with your post. Please leave out any personal information on the page. There is an attachment tool found in the Go Advanced button next to the Post Quick Reply button.
Look at the tool bar, it look like a small paper clip.

my advice if you wish to take it, dont print the border, makes it look a little less professional imho

ps if you have a college education, probably best to not mention high school, that part of life is irrelevant now

I just printed out your document. At my end, everything look fine.

yes but when i print it, it is not an accurate even border as i explained in the first post.. wether or not i include a border, if i add another for another document, i will still have the same problem..

I tend to agree with futurex.
Pls understand that I am coming form a US perspective, so not sure what is the norm where you are.
Here, a more professional approach would be to get rid of the bells and whistles, such as borders, and perhaps the italics for the name. Try bold.
Also agree that High School is history for you now. Your college is what counts to future employer, And if you have an electrical engr degree, you would not have a problem getting a job here.
Again, this is from my country perspective. You should run this by someone where you are.

There are a couple things you can try, first you can scale your page to A4 thats concidered a regular page scale

Then you can also go into your printer properties and scale to fit on there too. All printers are set up a bit different so you might have to look around for it but they all do it.

I hope this will help you out with your situation.
