controller card for hard drives, but I don't think you have space for another hard drive(floppy space?)

but both internal burners would be standalone master

can I replace the floppy space for another hard drive? I can make the floppy become external.

          Thanks

if it fits then the real issue will be the power supply.

should work as long as you don't try to cram 3 burners in the case too

I hope you build the next one yourself in a regular tower
Mine has places for 6- 3 1/2 drives and 4 optical drives

Thanks, But I think my kids may have to take that as a challenge,

Question? if I want to add just one more internal DVD burner, the card you gave above should be enough? should I add more Ram when I have chance, and what type of Ram should I put in, I read 2 gig is max but I know you know alot about this.

              Thanks

for that computer just run lean and mean and stay at 512, not a multitasker or gamer, just a lean clean burning/scanning machine with a little transcoding
thrown in. shrink won't ever touch above 512, not sure rebuilder has to have it either.

For vista get 4 gigs with the ability to add another 4

I hook up as master and slave but now I can't change the slave dma on?

Why.? the comp. also have another slot for extra hard drive, the power conection is there but the jumper cable is not like dvd cable ( no extra) for slave

Dell likes to do that, the new HD should come with a cable, if not buy one for about 2 bucks.

dell uses cable select a lot, you might have mixed jumper settings

you do know how to set jumpers?

both drives can be set for cable select
or one drive master the other slave

Just unscrew the mounting thing for the HD and change the pin to slave. IIRC that is no jumper, as in all open.
