    sound output loosing volume!

,i play my music with mediaplayer, and change track, and cant hear anything and then realise that sound volume decreased for unknown reason at least 70%!and all places where i can increase volume are allready on the max,and i have a feeling that since last two clean installs general volume output has decreased---like before that it would be ok for me to listen music (all on the max on the comp) and -38db on my sony stereo, now for the same level i need -32db...can it be that i should buy a new souncard, now i have onboard soundmax or something similar . (asus a7v8x-x)

and to make it all normal again,i need to restart my computer!

I have onboard and it never does that to me, so I have no idea. Did you try different programs?
