    LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1693S no burn dvd's

    never has, never will. tried many software progs. here is my nero log. thanks in advance.

    It appears that you are writing an open ended disc. You are using Nero 6.6.0.13. If you want to burn directly from shrink, then use 6.6.0.18. If you want to burn manually, then upgrade to 6.6.1.4. Get them from my signature.

    It appears that you have a lot of programs running in the background, shut some off to get a better burn.

          With the media I use so far with my 1693s I went to KSOB and then went back to KSOA. Have you tried a different media and/or burning at a lower speed with the MAXELL?

                    hello guys, this poj won't burn any dvd's. i've gone from ksoa to ksob. even in ksoa it did not work. i've tried various media's and various speeds. cd's are no problem. just my luck i got the one and only one that sux!

                        yes if by reading you mean will it play dvd's. also in explorer it will recognize the dvd and let me see what files and directories are on it.

                              well just tried it and i got an error that read "power calibration area error (037303)". this happened at about 2min and 01 secs into the process of creating a data disc.
