So... what you reccomend is buy this drive, wipe the current one and install Windows on the new one?
Then I would have 3 drives, but the problem is, I can only hook up 2. Unless of course I use the 60GB one for scrap metal
But I would want the larger 200GB drive as the main one and then just format my current main drive (160GB) as a backup drive with no OS?
And what do you mean about partitions, on this drive I just erased all partitions then installed Windows on one.
But if I am gonna get this new drive I will wait before wiping this drive.
take out 60 gig and slave the new 200
hook the new drive up and use disk manage to partition into a 20 gig and a
180(less), primary and extended with logical. Set the primary active. transfer all data to the 180 partition. Now disconnect the 160 and rejumper
the 200 master and boot and install windows and all programs. Reconnect old 160 as slave. format and recopy all critcal data to it(want 2 copies of
mp3 libraries etc).
just one scenario of how to do it.
plan on a drive dying and don't keep all your eggs in one basket
