Something wrong - on startup I get



This is different to the error in the readme.

BTW: The link I am using to DL is http://www.favessoft.com/FolderCache.zip

EDIT: Fixed it - the txt file which saves the folders needed a number at the top (number of folders to cache).

Folder Cache v. 1.5 Added code to prevent opening 2 instances of the cache window.

Found a little one.

If you delete a folder, it stays in the list. Trying to open it, gives an error (which needs to be trapped and the folder deleted from the list).

Also, you might consider having more than 24 folders.

Update

Folder Cache v. 1.6

The Enter key now presses the Open Selected Button in the Folder Cache Window even when it doesn't have the input focus. No need to use Alt-O now.

Les, I messed around with it and added a double-click simulation. It's a bit flaky but it should work most of the time for launching a single item. It's in build 1.6.1.0

I think the timer function I'm using is a bit flaky. Once out of 10 it just doesn't want to work and you need to use the button or right click.

edit: try v. 1.62 I just uploaded. Not perfect but the double click seems a bit better.. plus I fixed a memory leak.

I'll try that Miles. I'm still on 1.6.0 I think. One thing I was gunn a report is that I have 36 entries and only 24 sho. There is no scrollbar.

Ok. Sorry for the obvious bugs. I'm new to doing GUI with scripts. Usually do straight compilers, but these hotkey gizmos can make doing some things very easy. There's probably a style I can add for auto scrollbar. I'll check it out.

Uploaded v. 1.7 Has a visible vertical scrollbar when the number of items is too large to fit in window. Also adjusted it so that if you reduce the max folder setting below what's in the list, the list is trimmed before next window open.

Someone on DonationCoder requested this as a "Coding Snack" and I thought it was a very handy thing to have although simple. It's a utility to create a folder chain. IOW, if you aren't in the mood to create 'tmp' under c: then go into 'tmp' and create 'tmp2' in explorer, then go in there and create 'tmp3' etc.. with this you type into the input box
c:\tmp\tmp2\mp3
and it creates the folder chain and opens the last folder in explorer so you can drag & drop into it.

If run from the command line with the folder you want as param, it opens the input box with that already entered and you just confirm or cancel.

Just scroll to the bottom of the Hotkeys page to download. It's called
CreateDir

Yay!! Icon free desktop at last!!

Thanks to using a dock utility I finally have an icon free desktop!! Now I don't care if AutoArrange or Snap To Grid is on or off!!!

Hi Miles. Are you talking about a docking station that houses a Sata and/or HDD? If so I have one and they're great.
