Thanks for sharing your experiences with Firefox Soup.

I just used it with no add-ons, but on many websites Firefox wouldn't display certain graphics saying I needed an add-on?? Also telling me I needed to 'download' a broadband flash player even though I already can view interactive broadband flash items like, for instance, Best Buys' weekly ads.

I like the "download status bar" for firefox it puts the download at the bottom corner so it don't get in your way as shown here . I aslo like "addblock plus" it gives you more control on what you want blocked. And I really like FireFTP it's a lot better then Filezilla IMHO.

        The Old Fashioned Way.

You have to remember a whole pile of stuff nowadays, serial #'s, user names, passwords etc. Well why not keep track of them the old fashioned way, grab yourself a notebook, update as you go & keep it in a safe but easily accessible place.

        Program Name:
        Serial#:

        Name of Organization:
        Login or User Name:
        Password:

        Simple but effective.

I'm not a real big fan of plugins for firefox other than Adblock and Noscript but when I found this one I couldn't resist.
                President Bush Countdown
A timer that counts down the number of days remaining in George W. Bush's term as President of the United States. Clicking on the countdown shows a more detailed timer and enables people to air their grievances on newprez.com. An icon shows when there is a new topic for discussion or a vote. Both Democrats and Republicans can enjoy this extension (for different reasons)!

That one tempted me, I have no idea why. BTW I found that AdBlock plus does a little bit more for you than AdBlock & I could not stand NoScript. I also gave IE View for Firefox a shot as well but turfed it.

                    Soup
Ooops I meant Adblock Plus. Noscripts does taking a little getting use to.
As far as the Bush counter goes, I uninstalled it. The constant reminder that we have two more year of him was too depressing!

I like McAfee SiteAdvisor, an add-on for FF but you can't get it from the FF site.

It is great when doing a google search and not knowing if a site is safe or not.

@BR7, a little disturbing that the link to DL IObit SmartDefrag 2.01 Beta says 'Start FREE Speedup Now!' but it does take you to a download site...

So does anyone know a program to stop those annoying 'pop over' adds (not sure if that is what they are called...)they are those animated adds that come up over a page, they aren't pop ups, they don't open a new browser window they just go over the one open already...My pop up blocker does nothing ....oh I use IE by the way, tried Firefox, just don't like the tabs..

If you used Firefox, you could add on AdBlock plus, those ads are yesterday's news.
