How can Media Player Classic play Streaming Online Content?

Hi everyone,

Desptie using Quicktime and Real Alternatives, they only work after the files are already downloaded on hard drive. for any online content I get message for downoading corresponding player. The same is true for WMV. However, I know that MPC can do it. How does it work? Do I have to activate or swith something in MPC options?

how exactly are you trying to play the file?

you need to go file-->open and type a url that goes directly to the file, eg http://www.site.com/directory/video.wmv

What I do is just click on the link, or if I want to watch apple.com movie trailer, I select the size (small, medium, large). Then it says please download quicktime player.

concerning wmv files, I have associaton with mpc of all video files, but online wmv still opens in windows media player.

which browser? get latest version of browser & qt alternative.

Internet ecplorer 6 and latest mozilla. quicktime alternative is also quite new.
