I have no Primary or Secondary IDE Channels

I was reading the thread: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=61905
I followed the steps to check if DMA was working on my computer, but when I opened my device manager and expanded the IDE ATA/ADAPI Controllers section, the only one there was NVIDIA nForce(TM) IDE Controller.

I am not sure what this means, but in the dvd shrink error message in the DMA part there were no Yes' or No's, just ?s.

I'm not sure if this is a problem, or if it might be slowing down my burn speed.
I would appreciate any feedback =)

You got the intel appln accelerator installed? If so, uninstall it.

I don't think I do. I've never heard of it, and it isn't in the Add/Remove Programs list.

I now have both a Primary and a Secondary.
Just curious, but what exactly will having the 2 controllers do? My burner may have been slow before, but it still worked fine. Will it just work faster now or something?

Won't hurt you in the slightest. Don't forget to enable DMA

All you have done now is switch to the standard, tested, certified nvidia
drivers from the buggy "enhanced" ones that nvidia screwed up on.
My burns were always fine too but the times were way off and unpredictable.
Never faster always slower, sometimes so slow I got real worried about the burns or blanks.
