PxHelp20.sys is not essential for Windows 10/11/7 and will often cause problems. Click here to see what PxHelp20 is doing, and how to remove PxHelp20.sys.
recently started using this program to troublshoot burning problems http://www.bustrace.com/products/devfilter.htm for the aspi interfaces I kind of expected crapware to hose them, but it would seem that newer programs like sonic(or clones) are hosing the spti interface as well I have run into th...
but you're not the first that's this has happened to, just so durn inconsistent, like a certain combination of things may or may not kill the burn.
Boy I hope you pegged it .... the only reason I say this is cuz I installed Roxio a long time ago, when I first got the box up and running. Roxio came with one of the drives if I remember right. I didn't like Roxio so I removed approx 6 mos after the build, durning another cleanup. So I have to assume that driver has been there quite a while. I used Add/Remove to dump Roxio or coulda used a Roxio uninstall.exe, not sure which. But it's been off the box for sometime....guess this driver stayed behind ..... I'll get rid of it, and we'll see how it goes.
The one thing that did ring TRUE though is something from the link I posted above:
"It is a CD writing driver used by Sonic RecordNow. This software usually comes pre-installed on Dell PCs with CDRWs installed. Removing this file will break Sonic RecordNow. This DLL is also used by serveral other CD writing applications that have licensed the Sonic codebase to write CDs in their own applications. This file can get corrupted sometimes, resulting in bluescreens. If this occurs, delete the file, and re-install Sonic Recordnow."
Seen my fair share of the bluescreen reboots. I will post back in a week or two, maybe sooner... As I will give it a STRESS test after I clean-up/clean-out.
Not sure about the link above, but I understand what needs to be done
http://www.roxio.com/en/support/kb/e...e6000061.jhtml (the link on there page doesn't work either, or it's my WORK puter ? Cuz it has Roxio too .. and BTW .... it can't BURN either .... now I know Y .... LOL ... gobment puter ... I cant busTrace as I don't have Admin rights .... but I'm pretty sure what I would find .... BINGO ... B13 .... LOL
Chewy, looks as though we (you) got the burning issued squared away. I did a couple of singles and doubles everything went fine. Hope it stays that way....
But .... while the box was pretty much sitting idle yesterday .. I was actually viewing posts on here .... I got a BSOD once again and I missed the stop code ... all I was able to catch was BAD_POOL_CALLER ..... so I still do have an issue ... I googled and saw that STOP 0xC2 is common (but not sure if that is mine) ... one person had bad memory ...I already did MemTest ... it was OK ...
I will see how it goes and see if I get the BSOD Stop Code
At least it looks like we/you cured the burning issue !!!!
