Thanks for that tip ..... I was planing on cleaning the CPU cuz it it crudy from orig paste .....

Do you know the best way to check whether or not these two addition SATA's I have on the mobo are a problem as well. The reason being is the "Delayed Write Failed" issue posted above. What odd is it seems to point toward the 4th drive (disc 3). This is the drive I've labeled as ALIEN_BAQ or Q: drive. It's 230 Gb's (no partitions) just for dumping (backup drive) all my data/tools/photos/isos (pc progys) etc. on with no compression via the .bat routine above. Recently when booting the chkdisk is being called to inspect the drive. Just this morning it said it corrected some issues (didn't quite catch all what it said). I will probably replace the SATA cables when I install the CPU Cooler. Any other suggestions are welcome'd !!!!

PS: The burns have been pretty successful, the only thing I've seen is when using ImgBurn, I sometimes get a failure at the end of burn during the "Syncronizing Cache" . The disc has been playable in each and every case.

    AX

And what funny is I can run this thing ragged, two Clones at once (heavy load) and the outputs are beautiful, it's just when I try to burn after the shrink .... I'm baffled .... more time might tell ..... hope dem prices come down soon build me a new box and giive dis one to the wife and son ......

          THX .... AX

TYG02's are better at 8x, but for a 16x burn all systems are go

btw that quality scan would have even been better with a benq,
as the scanner, that nec 3540 does good burns.

and burning auto from shrink is for noobs

Yeah .... there's no tellin what ur gonna get in the mail .... I ALWAYS order TY 4X -R (G01's) but I either get 02 or 03's, which these are ....

Yeah I've read quite a bit of the posts whee you mention the BENQ's read capabilities.... that will be my next RW drive .....

On the last one WHY noobs, what's wrong with doing that IF it works ? It did many moons ago .... not no more .... but that's OK ..... the reason I liked it is set it up click "BackUp" grab a brew go to the pool and when you come back .. disc is cooked ..... PS: my computer is on the second floor .....

I really think that was shrink's downfall, it's a beautiful standalone program.
After about 3 years of manual burning and hearing the horror stories from
here and auto burning, it's an open and shut case for more reasons than I care to elaborate on. Manual works, auto has problems.

Course i have never given it a fair chance myself. Old dogs new tricks.

An old dog here also, a late DVD user and backer upper I got into backing up with Shrink in auto with Nero and the only problems I ever had were the failed DVD allocation ones. Opened Nero up, chose the same rip, Nero gave a warning, burned it and it played anyway. Never any other trouble with burning in auto from Shrink. The box I did the most so far was a PIII 733 with 4 HDD and 2 DVD drives in it. But the newer box, the AMD 1500 is catching up fast only 2 HDD and 2 DVD drives cause I gotta get a some more power splitters

Guess I'll pull the raines in a little and go for 12X see if that helps

Get the big jar of Robitussin, any version of nero with all zeros after the number is bad news.

                        File 'Drivers\PXHELP20.SYS': Ver=2.02.62a, size=20016 bytes, created 2/14/2006 6:21:25 AM (Prassi/Veritas driver for win 2K)

doesn't look good either, what version of sonic?

and there's about 200 megs of extra programs running? Conflicts?

neither of your burners can do tyg03's safely at 16x even on one of my computers

Why are you using nero? This all started in the Imgburn forum/subforum?

You can set your burn speed to 8X with Imgburn, have the kitchen sink load at startup, and burn auto with Imgburn a lot more safely than with Nero.

I set a bad example by using Nero and not having any problems, but I run lean and mean and use manual.

These were manuals ..... I've never done Auto from Shrink to Nero

I went to Nero cuz it drops out a lot of time if I'm sitting in front of the puter....

For a long time (ole habits) I've been using Nero Burning ROM when things were working well. I would Rip, PgcEdit, and burn. Since FixVTS came along I actually started doing more with Nero cuz a lot of times it got the size below 4450mb. For a while I was creating isos via PgcEdit and burnin with Imgburn (would this fall under the noob rule ...LOL) but these gave failures as well (always the buring issue).

If I had to Shrink the Rip:
                            - In DVDS I always created iso and burned with Decrypter. Lately since problems I output to a folder or create iso only.
                            - In Clone2 (ole method) output to Temp folder and let its internal burn engine create the disc. The latest method is to output to a folder, cuz it's very quick, then burn with Nero also very quick ......
                            - Did a minor few (10) with Nero Recode

I need to try and figure out what TY MID's (all mine are TYs. nothing else) I used over the last few months (when the errors started). I'll be honest here and put my neck over the stump and say I've never toggled back on the burn speed always at MAX. As you can see I use L&D firmware hacks. You even mentioned burin 8X before 8X discs existed.... Can't remember exactly but I think I was doing G01's at 12x with the 3540A hack and G02's at 16x. Have to go back and probe my collection with CD Speed, if we (you) think this is the issue.

BTW: I have a few things running in the background, but I always did, last two years.

I did a lot of testing of max burn speeds and scanning with my nec 3520, 3540 and 3550 and TYG's. All burned best at 8X. The 3550 dropped the ball worse at 12 and 16x, but was the best at 8X.

It's what you have running in the background that's the problem,
Nero 7 is a resource hog and nero 7.0000000 was probably one of the worst
burning programs ever released, update it.

                              125 megs whew!

Thanks for the info on burning speeds/NEC/TYs !!!

I started burnin at 8X on both drives, see if I get any more errors, warnings, burps ....... whew, it takes forever at 8X .... LOL !!!!!

When I burn with Nero, I run the nero.exe only (Nero Burning ROM) I don't access the NeroSMARTStart.exe. Not sure of the resourse diff between 6 vs 7 with regard to running just nero.exe ......

I will get the latest releases ..... THX
