Using monitor to display ps2 on S-video

Greetings to all of you. This is my first post and my final attempt to solve my problem. I'm not really knowledgeable about what some of these wires are called, i'm sorry. Here's what i have so far:
    • Leadtek Palmtop USB capture device
    • Nvidia 6600, display driver 84.21
    • Err...the Green, Blue, and Red wire which is used for s-video output.
    • from the capture device, it comes with the yellow, red, and white input wires and the input for the s-video wire that i have for my video card.
Basically this is my problem. If i connect the red, yellow, and white (audio & video wires from my ps2) to my capture card, it works fine, although the images isn't that good. I searched over the net for svideo and it turns out it produces a much clearer picture quality than regular video. Now, when connect the video (yellow wire) to the blue input wire that's connected to my video card, and i connect the svideo output of my video card to the svideo input of the capture device, it displays a black and white picture.

I have tried the following to solve my problem:
    • Adjust the settings of the output device by using nview properties, i tried out the component output, and svideo output.
    • I also tried other older drivers for my video card
    • using other capture programs

Please, please help me out. If there are any clarifications that you need to solve the problem please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you in advance!

what is your exact model of video card? 6600 is a chipset that comes in several flavors

little confused, are you just trying to get the s video output from the computer to display or be captured?

yup that's the card. here's an example of the picture quality that i get if connected regularly and not through svideo cable. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...9-1816CVBS.jpg

It's a bit blurry but when i connect it through the svideo cable i get this picture but it's in black and white. =(

and you've checked another s video cable?

and selected input on the device to svideo?

yup i selected the option to capture the video through s-video. I also have set the ouput from my card to NTSC. which is the same as my ps2 (ntsc). Thx for the help so far.

Yes but i have a different case. Other people want their computer to display on a TV. While my case is i want my monitor to act as a TV.

can't blame me for getting confused here , just so we're clear, it's going from ps2-->capture device-->PC monitor?

and you've checked another s video cable?
answer? what problems i had when i briefly used s-video were caused by a bad cable.

Now, when connect the video (yellow wire) to the blue input wire that's connected to my video card, and i connect the svideo output of my video card to the svideo input of the capture device, it displays a black and white picture.
disconnect the the input rca cable from the video card, that's an out only connection
