if i were to erase everything off my computer and reinstall xp back onto my computer would that change all of my dvd burner settings back to the way that they were. I have had my computer restored a couple of times already and the then it has burned dvds fine. I was just wondering if i would restore my computer if it would put all the settings back on when i would install xp back on.

if installing xp also installs a lot of crap software that comes with factory built computers, then you might want to clean up that mess first, for example older versions of gear/sonic burning software.

yeah it comes with roxio cd/dvd/creator and sonic dvd. so i should just not have them installed?

you can uninstall then but they still leave crap behind, just start a new thread after your get up and running, we can kill them several ways
